Check Out Ozzie’s Pops & Pretzels at Navy Pier
Say hello to our favorite summer spot – Ozzie’s Pops & Pretzels. Nestled in the new Fifth Third Bank Family Pavillion at one of Chicago’s buzziest tourist attractions, Navy Pier, Chef Ozzie Ocegueda’s concept is dishing out homemade paletas, hand-twisted pretzels, fresh-squeezed juices, seasonal fruits and ice cold horchata.
Ozzie is taking his lifelong passion for paletas to create a menu of seasonal popsicles that will use all-natural ingredients. A few twists on classics you’ll have to try this summer are Chocolate Banana, Strawberry, Toasted Coconut, Dulce de Leche, and Peanut Butter & Jelly. The fresh fruit pops are perfectly refreshing for summer and include flavors such as Lime Chia, Blueberry Basil, and Watermelon.
Looking for a bite on the pier? Try the hand-twisted pretzels that are baked in-house throughout the day with savory and sweet varieties including The Original, Pepperoni Pizza, The Everything, Cinnamon Sugar, and the Rita Cheese Pretzel. Take those pretzels to the next level with hot and cold dipping sauces like cheddar cheese, horseradish cheese, jalapeno cheese, marinara, mustard, and vanilla icing.
Ozzie’s Pops & Pretzels is inspired by Chef Ozzie’s heritage from being raised in El Carmen, Jalisco where he would watch his mother in the kitchen preparing paletas – or popsicles – by hand. Mixing fresh fruit, cream, and just a touch of sugar brought joy to Ozzie and they’d take these homemade paletas to a nearby soccer field and sell them to local families for an afternoon treat.

There’s more than just what’s in the name at Ozzie’s Pops & Pretzels. Fresh-squeezed lemonades come in seasonal flavors and can be served in our special “jar.” Looking for a healthy break from all the fried foods on the pier? Yogurt with different types of fruits and granola are available with a choice of natural or acai berry yogurt.
