After a trip out to Akutan, Alaska last fall, the team from Shaw’s Crab House in Chicago was in awe of the beauty and size of the Whole Alaskan King Crab; we just had to figure out a way for you to try them.

The team at Shaw’s prides themselves on serving up some of the freshest seafood in the city and this freshness stems from our relationships with fishermen. Because of our 34-year relationship with Trident Seafood, Shaw’s is now able to bring whole king crab to exclusively source these beautiful crabs and bring them from the waters of Alaska straight to your table at Shaw’s Chicago. This month, Shaw’s Crab House in Chicago debuted the Whole Alaskan King Crab served tableside!

A crab on ice

Imagine this: a stunning red king crab is placed in the center of your table and these glorious crustaceans can weigh anywhere between 4.5 lbs to 8.5 lbs!   First, a seasonal amuse bouche like a chilled king crab salad is brought to you while your server prepares the crab so you can easily pull the meat out with your cocktail fork.  The crab legs are then served chilled with housemade mustard and cocktail sauce.

The Alaskan King Crab is based on availability and is extremely limited. It’s sold at market price averaging about $54 per lb.

Want to take a crack at devouring this beautiful Whole Alaskan King Crab? Call Shaw’s Chicago at 312-527-2722 at least 48-hours in advance to reserve your crab.
