Khachapuri, a dish from Georgia (the country, not the state) seems like a love child between deep dish pizza and shakshuka, a popular Mediterranean brunch option. You might have seen these oblong bread boats filled with cheese and baked eggs on your Instagram feed. Now, Chicagoans can enjoy it for brunch at Aba in the Fulton Market neighborhood!

Aba Khachapuri Gif

Aba’s Executive Chef/ Partner CJ Jacobson stumbled upon the dish while researching a cheese he sampled on a recent trip to Athens.

Available Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Aba’s Khachapuri features baked egg, cremini mushrooms, green onion and graviera (the special cheese from Greece) cradled in housemade bread and baked in the wood-fired oven. Pro tip: As you eat it, rip off pieces of the bread to dip into the melted cheese and runny egg!

Stop by Aba this weekend to try the Khachapuri – but make sure to snap a pic for the ‘gram. Trust us, this one is going to get all the likes!
