For most, a freshly flipped omelette is the quintessential breakfast staple. These eggy favorites have a new home at Mon Ami Gabi Reston. Introducing an all-new omelettes menu for weekend brunch. On Saturdays from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM and Sundays from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, brunch-goers can treat themselves to any one of five options.
For a chef, one of the most important skills is their ability to make an omelette. Why? It requires chefs to pay attention to a myriad of basic cooking details, while using minimal tools and cookware. This is true at Mon Ami Gabi, where omelettes are prepared the French way with a perfectly thin fold and no signs of browning.
Here are a few of our favorite omelettes on the new brunch menu.
First, the Omelette Lorraine is closely related to the Quiche Lorraine; a combination of thick bacon, cheese, caramelized onions and chives.
The gooey Brie Cheese Omelette is stuffed with brie imported straight from France along with mushrooms and chives.
If you want simple, the Ham & Cheese Omelette, made with smoked Virginia ham and imported Jarlsberg cheese, is your new everyday go-to. For Mon Ami Gabi, it was a prerequisite for the menu, bringing the savory edge that makes the entire menu sing.
A delicious way to eat your veggies is the Vegetable Omelette which combines spinach, peppers, mushroom, tomatoes and green beans all sourced from the D.C. area. As does the Egg White Omelette, which celebrates the root vegetable with creamy butternut squash and brussels sprouts for a textured crunch.
All omlettes are served a warm baguette with sweet buttercream and raspberry preserves as well as house red russet potatoes sautéed with caramelized onions, rosemary and thyme.
