Oyster Fest is headed home. This year, to mark its 29th annual celebration, Shaw’s Crab House in Chicago is inviting guests inside the Oyster Bar for a 10-day party from October 5 through the 15. From all day happy hours to dinners with award-winning oyster purveyors from around the country, special oyster dishes, and more, it’s going to be a shellabration.

Every night at Shaw’s Crab House in Chicago will be a party. Here’s what to expect:

All Day, Every Day
Join us for all-day happy hours and enjoy half off one east coast and one west coast oyster from open to close in the Oyster Bar! Live music will be up and running from 7PM to 10PM – view the band lineup here. The menu will be stocked with your favorite oyster-centric dishes featuring Po’boys, Baked & Grilled, Pan Roast, and house specialty Buffalo Oysters. Can’t get enough oyster deals? In addition to the Oyster Fest Happy Hour specials, we will be offering pop up .50 cent oyster hours throughout the week that will be announced exclusively on social media @shellyfromshaws and Shaw’s mobile club.

Slurp-Off Contests
For our competitive diners, we will have the famous slurp-off competitions taking place throughout the week.  First round will take place at 6PM on our kick off night, October 5th.  Take your shot at the slurp off on Monday, October 9, Tuesday October 10, & Wednesday, October 11 at 6PM.  The final will take place during the Grand Finale Event on October 15th with the winner taking a way the title of Slurp Off Winner & $1,000 in Shaw’s gift certificates.

Thursday, October 5: Tap Party with Haymarket Brewery
We’re kicking off Oyster Fest with a tap party in collaboration with Haymarket Brewery. We’re celebrating their first ever tap release outside of their Chicago-based brewery with a brand new Shaw’s beer, Lemon Ryesing Saison, that was made to pair perfectly with fresh oysters.

Saturday, October 7, Sunday, October 8, October 14, Sunday, October 15: Shaw’s Oyster Fest Brunch
As we move into the weekend, make a reservation for one of the restaurant’s fabulous Saturday or Sunday brunches. Many additional oyster offerings will be on the display on the Grand Shaw’s Buffet that has redefined Brunch in Chicago. Lettuce Entertain You’s Frequent Diners will earn double points for all brunches throughout Oyster Fest! 

Thursday, October 12: From Coast-to-Coast Dinner
Shaw’s and guest chef Leo Waldmeier, of the iconic Drake Hotel and Cape Cod Room, are welcoming oyster growers from each of the coasts to come together for the first ever Coast-to-Coast Dinner. This interactive, four-course dinner with wine pairings will feature Hama Hama, from Washington State – repping the west coast and Island Creek, from Massachusetts – repping the east coast along with chef Waldmeier signature Bookbinder soup.  The dinner is priced at $89 per guest (exclusive of tax & gratuity) and starts at 6:30PM.

Sunday, October 15: Grand Finale
And definitely don’t miss the Grand Finale Party on Sunday, October 15th from 4pm to 10pm.  This special ticketed event ($70 exclusive of tax and gratuity) features an over the top offering of classic Oyster Festival dishes, wine and beer favorites, specialty cocktails, an Oyster Roast in the Oyster Hall of Fame Room, live music from 4 to 10 p.m., and of course the oyster slurp-off finale! We look forward to celebrating the BEST Oyster Fest yet this year!
