Yeah, yeah, pumpkin this and pumpkin that, but let us not forget about our other favorite fall ingredient: apples! ‘Tis the season for these round beauties to be chopped, mixed, baked and cooked into just about every dessert out there. They’re both tart and sweet and give a nostalgic flavor to all of those autumn treats. We’ve rounded up our favorite apple dishes that are currently being served in some of our restaurants, from the hot cider to the pies and everything in between.

Sausage Bacon Roasted Apple at RPM Italian
Sausage Bacon Roasted Apple at RPM Italian

Sausage & Bacon Roasted Apples with Black Truffle Jus from RPM Italian
Crisp fall apples are stuffed with fresh sausage then wrapped in bacon and roasted; served with a black truffle jus. This recipe is perfect for home entertaining (not currently available in the restaurant) and can be prepped in advance. Chef Doug Psaltis recommends using Honeycrisp or Cox’s Orange Pippin apples as they stand up well to baking and roasting. He sources them locally from Nichols Farm & Orchard out of Marengo, IL.
