Meet Joel Rund, LEYE’s Ice Man.

Don’t know what an Ice Man is? Neither did we, so we spent a day shadowing the man behind all of our magical frozen creations. From cubes embedded with rappers to full-blown sculptures, the sky’s the limit to what Joel’s can create. From start to finish, see what goes into the thoughtful cubes cooling down your beverage.

Joel produces over 5,000 hand-cut ice cubes each week (that’s over 1,100 lbs of ice a week!) that supply the chill for 10 LEYE restaurants. Using three top of the line and handmade Clinebell ice machines that weigh in at 5,000 lbs each, the ice is allowed 3-4 days to fully freeze into 100 lb crystal-clear blocks!
