Introducing our friends at Culinary Care, a Chicago non-profit organization that helps cancer patients live happier and healthier lives through food. Through Culinary Care, we’re honored to have the opportunity to extend the hospitality we offer within the four walls of our restaurants to our guests and their families who are unable to visit us in the restaurants.

The Culinary Care Story

“In 2006, when I was junior in high school, my father was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. Seven months later he passed away. It was incredibly difficult time for my family and I, but there was one thing that made our days a little easier and that was the meals friends and neighbors delivered each night. These meals brought our family together, gave us the strength to keep moving forward, and one less thing we had to worry about. I started Culinary Care because I don’t want anyone fighting cancer to have to fight to put food on the table. I want a world where everyone diagnosed with cancer can breathe a little easier knowing their meal is taken care of, where they can spend more time with loved ones, and where they feel cared about by their community.” Courtney White, Founder of Culinary Care

Founded in 2013, Culinary Care is carrying out this mission by delivering restaurant-prepared meals to patients and their families during treatment. Culinary Care currently delivers food to five hospitals around the Chicagoland area.

With the support of our restaurants (Bub City, Wildfire, Joe’s, Hub 51, Big Bowl, Summer House Santa Monica and Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba!) Courtney and her team have delivered over 7,500 meals to more than 1,000 families and individuals fighting cancer.
