In southern regions of Italy, the Feast of the Seven Fishes is the customary meal on Christmas Eve that has (luckily) spread to the states. Also known as The Vigil, the origin of this tradition has long been debated amongst Italians. Some families will say that the feast must have 7 different courses with 7 different fish, others will incorporate as many fish into one pasta as possible, while some will insist on 12 courses for the 12 apostles. The one thing that can be agreed upon is that the dinner is delicious and we are thrilled that several of our restaurants are adopting the tradition and making it their own this holiday season.
