Foodease Market in Water Tower Place has been a Michigan Avenue staple for more than seven years now! Sure, its famous for the endless salad bar that we all know and love, but in case that’s the only thing you’ve enjoyed at the market, we’re here to give you the inside scoop on some of the hidden gems of Foodease that you may not have known existed.
TO TAKE HOME: Hit the Freezer
Did you know that you can snag a pint of Jeni’s ice cream or a pan of Lou Malnatis frozen pizza to take home (no shame if you choose to take both, we’d all do the same)? These, plus more of your favorite food items from local Chicago restaurants, your favorite Lettuce spots (past and present) and vendors are available at Foodease. Tucked right behind the salad bar and on the way to the grab & go section is where you’ll find ’em.
TO SIP ON: Check out the Wine Shop
The wine shop in Foodease is stocked with more than 100 different wines, many of the bottles under $20! Grab yourself a bottle (or two) for your next gathering or just to enjoy on your couch while watching your favorite reality show. If you’re more of a beer drinker, you can mix-and-match your own six pack of craft beers from local breweries including Two Brothers Brewing Company and Lagunitas Brewing Company.
Speaking of wine and beer, Foodease has a happy hour… and that makes us happy! Enjoy $5 select pours of beer, red and white wine every Tuesday – Friday from 2 PM – 5 PM.
IF YOU’RE IN A RUSH: Grab & Go
Foodease makes it easy to stay healthy while you grab & go. Enjoy salads to-go, pre-made sandwiches and wraps, fruit cups, and lots more. Sip on any of the house-made spa waters, including Grapefruit Thyme, Cucumber and Lemon Ginger.
NOT CRAVING A SALAD OR SANDWICH: Try Made-to-order Sushi
And one of our all time hidden favorites at Foodease? It’s the sushi bar which is fully equipped with freshly-made rolls like the California Roll and The Acapulco Roll as well as the Seaweed Salad or Tuna Poke Bowl.
IF YOU’VE GOT A SWEET TOOTH: We’ve Got You Covered
For all you chocolate people out there, The Chocolate Closet is stocked with local, artisan chocolates and sweets. If you prefer candy, the nostalgic candy boxes offer childhood favorites like Peach Rings, Laffy Taffy’s, Chocolate Covered Almonds, and more!
IF YOU LIKE TO DIY: Customize Your Own Trailmix
The T-Mix Wall may not exactly be hidden, but it sure is a gem! Located on the back wall of Foodease, grab a bag and customize your trail-mix with Banana Chips, Dried Peas, Sunshine Mix and Yogurt Covered Raisins.
