Breakfast Smoothie Recipes from Our Chefs
Too many of us skip breakfast. Maybe it’s because we are rushing to start work, don’t have an appetite that early in the morning or frankly, just aren’t a fan of breakfast foods. Whatever your reason, we have a resolution: breakfast smoothies.
We asked some of the busiest people we know, our chefs, what they like to eat/drink in the morning and they created some yummy but also satisfying smoothies that even they have time to make. So rise and shine because here are four smoothie recipes from our chefs for you to try tomorrow morning!
Mychael Bonner, Chef/Partner at Di Pescara, Petterino’s and Saranello’s, created a smoothie with an unexpected combination of fruits and veggies: celery, banana, blueberries, honey and soy milk. For this recipe, click here.
Lettuce Entertain You’s Corporate Chef Rita Dever created a smoothie with medjool dates. Mix up Almond milk, medjool dates, chia/ flax seed, almond butter, cinnamon with options to add banana, blueberries, raspberries and voila!
*Chef Mychael Bonner’s Breakfast Smoothie
- 1 cup celery
- 1 banana
- ½ cup fresh blueberries
- 1 cup soy milk
- 1 tbsp. honey (if desired)
- 1 cup ice (if desired for thicker texture)
- Blend all ingredients together until smooth.
*Chef Rita Dever’s Breakfast Smoothie
- 1 cup almond milk
- 3 ea. medjool dates, diced
- 1 tbsp. chia/ flax seed blend
- 1 tbsp. almond butter
- ¼ tsp. cinnamon
- ¼ tsp. vanilla extract
- 5 ea. ice cubes
- ½ cup banana (optional)
- ½ cup blueberries (optional)
- ½ cup raspberries (optional)
- Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Serve immediately.
