Chicago, IL – February 7, 2017 – Windy City Smokeout, the premier BBQ, craft beer and country music festival, hosted by popular Chicago restaurant, Bub City, and ACM award-winning, Joe’s Bar, will return to Chicago on July 14 – 16 for the fifth consecutive year. More than 45,000 guests are expected to descend upon Grand Avenue near the Chicago River for a weekend-long event where attendees will savor some of the best BBQ and craft beers from around the nation while listening to many of country music’s biggest names and up-and-coming talent.

The 2017 pitmaster lineup will feature top talent from Chicago and around the country including many returning favorites like 17th Street BBQ, Skylight Inn and The Salt Lick BBQ, and new additions such as Little Miss BBQ from Phoenix and Fox Bros BBQ from Atlanta. From tri-tip to brisket, pitmasters will dishoutbarbeque classics and hometown specialties available a la carte all weekend long.  This year’s complete BBQ lineup includes:

To complement the impressive BBQ lineup, Windy City Smokeout will also offer delicious non-BBQ options in various lounge areas surrounding the Jack Daniel’s Whiskey Jam stage. Guests can enjoy a range of fare from Maine Lobster and Sir Kensington’s in the New England lounge, Texas Sausage on the Texas grounds, and Three Dots and a Dash at the tropical Tiki inspired area. With a history of introducing Chicago to the country’s best eats including Gus’s Fried Chicken and Quiote, Windy City Smokeout will also welcome The Budlong and their famous Nashville Hot Chicken to the festival.

Windy City Smokeout’s music lineup brings an impressive group of award-winning country music stars and up-and-coming talent. Thirty acts will take the stage over the weekend including headliners Jake Owen, ACA winner and CMA nominated Kip Moore and Lee Brice. With a track record for spotting country music’s rising stars such as Chris Stapleton, Maren Morris and Old Dominion, Windy City Smokeout and ACM award-winning promoter Ed Warm continue to bring up-and-coming artists to the forefront with acts including Luke Combs, Steel Woods, LANCo, Eli Young Band, Jana Kramer, Brandy Clark and many more. “Going on five years, Windy City Smokeout has continued to introduce Chicago to the best BBQ, rising music talent and top craft breweries from around the country,” said Doug Psaltis of Bub City. “After traveling the country to find the best BBQ, we are thrilled to introduce newcomers Little Miss BBQ and Fox Bros BBQ to this year’s roster and, in addition to delicious BBQ, we are proud to continue to showcase up-and-coming country artists such as rising-star Luke Combs who is sure to be the next big thing in country music.”

Windy City Smokeout will round out the festival with a number of can’t-miss, curated events to elevate every festivalgoer’s experience. Guests looking to roll up their sleeves and learn the tricks of the trade can join Myron Mixon, four-time world barbecue champion, as his BBQ cooking school hits the road at the overnight Myron Mixon Cooking School for a one-of-a-kind experience where guests will learn how to become a true pitmaster ($400) or make it a family affair at the first-ever Windy City Smokeout Father-Son Cookoff ($80). Those looking for elevated food experiences can opt for the Whole Hog Brunch with champagne provided by Moët & Chandon and spirits from Whistle Pig Whiskey ($60), an evening crawfish boil at the Oyster Roast and Seafood Boil served alongside Moët& Chandon Impérial ($60) and a BBQ Brunch featuring a variety of dishes from each pitmaster and a Belvedere Bloody Mary Bar with all the fixins ($55). The ticketed events do not include admission to the festival; a single day or three-day pass is required for entry.

Windy City Smokeout’s craft beer program is a force to be reckoned with, pouring a variety of limited-time only drafts from local and visiting breweries. This year, attendees will get a chance to try all of the brews with their Craft Beer Crawl Pass. Kicking off during Friday’s Biggest Happy Hour of the Summer (2pm-5pm), passholders will have access to 45 beers from the 21 participating breweries, including:

New this year, Windy City Smokeout is implementing a cash-free policy to enhance the guest experience by streamlining the payment process and reducing lines and hassle upon entering the festival grounds. Each ticket holder will receive a state-of-the-art wristband with their purchase, allowing them to pay for their BBQ, brews and swag with a simple flick of the wrist. Credit cards will also be accepted.

In addition to going cashless, Windy City Smokeout has added multiple TVs and screens throughout the festival grounds, which will broadcast sporting events and live music throughout the weekend.
