EQ Office, the U.S. office portfolio company wholly owned by Blackstone’s real estate funds, today announced Sushi-San will open a second location at Willis Tower. The sushi spot will be located in Catalog, the 300,000 square feet, five-story dining, retail and immersive-entertainment experience at the base of Willis Tower, which is now under construction.

This new location of Sushi-San will offer both a dine-in experience and grab-and-go station, which is unique to the Willis Tower location. Guests can get made-to-order hand rolls and a 45-minute omakase at the main bar and will be able to customize maki rolls, poke or chirashi bowls and more at the sushi counter. Sushi-San will be located on the ground level in Willis Tower’s atrium near the main entrance at W. Jackson Blvd.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Sushi-San to the continuously evolving offering at Catalog,” said David Moore, Senior Vice President and Portfolio Director at EQ Office. “Sushi San offers a super high-quality product with a vibe that is fun and uniquely connects to the City of Chicago. They are continuously innovating and raising the bar for their guests, and we are excited to be able to bring this to our tenants at the Tower.”

Led by Master Sushi Chef Kaze Chan, Sushi-San is known for offering high-quality sushi, made-to-order hand rolls and nightly omakase experiences by sourcing the best ingredients from across the globe and coupling them with simple techniques. Much like Ramen-San and the original Sushi-San, this upcoming location will have a direct partnership with the Yamasaki family from Japan’s Toyosu Fish Market and receives daily deliveries of the freshest and best fish and seafood available.

“We are excited to bring Sushi-San to Catalog at Willis Tower” says Amarit Dulyapaibul, Associate Partner, Sushi-San. “This new location will showcase some of our greatest hits from the menu at Sushi-San in River North in a service style fit for the Loop neighborhood.”

Sushi-San joins Shake Shack, Brown Bag Seafood Co., Do-Rite Donuts & Chicken, Urbanspace, Sweetgreen, Starbucks, Market Creations and Convene in Catalog. The first retailers have already begun opening, and the entire Catalog space will be complete by mid-2020.
