Tree of Life at Bar Ramone in Chicago
Since opening this past August in the River North neighborhood, Bar Ramone is a wine bar featuring Spanish tapas with a “modern influence” – think Galician octopus, lamb meatballs, patatas bravas and pan con tomate. With a list curated by Ryan Arnold (Wine Enthusiast ‘40 Under 40 Tastemaker’) and Richard Hanauer (Food & Wine ‘Sommelier of the Year’), there over 100 bottles of wine – many are Spanish – as well as Porron, available still, fizzy or rosé.
“We didn’t want our list to be intimidating,” says Arnold. “We have created a collection that really showcases what Richard and I would choose to drink at a wine bar. “The wine list is a combination of all of our favorite wines from past lists and wine regions across the globe that we have visited. We really want to showcase classic producers while working in some emerging, talented producers.”
But don’t forget the cocktails, including the Tree of Life, made with Fords gin, Coco simple, pineapple juice, lime juice and tonic.
