Pizzeria Portofino (317 N. Clark St.) has been closed by the coronavirus shutdown since mid-March, but after winning the Chicago Tribune Readers’ Choice Dining Award for Best New Restaurant (announced earlier this week), some celebration was in order.

And so, for this weekend only, Pizzeria Portofino is back.

From 2-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Pizzeria Portofino will offer a limited popup menu for pickup and delivery; orders can be placed via ChowNow or Tock To Go, both accessible via pizzeriaportofino.com. Or call the restaurant at 312-900-9018.

Among the items on offer are several pizzas, including the charred pepperoni (my favorite) and the Pugliese (crumbled fennel sausage, rapini, pecorino cheese and chile flakes) at $19 and $18, respectively. There’s also double-chocolate tiramisu ($8).

Beverages include the signature Portofino pils beer ($7) and make-at-home spritzer kits ($25).

(Many of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises’ restaurants have been offering pickup and delivery since the statewide shutdown, but Pizzeria Portofino has not been one of them.)
