From sports fields to city vistas, these haunts offer up more than good food and drink

Chicago has some of the most gorgeous scenery in the world, and very few things enhance it better than standout food and drink. Here’s a list of restaurants and bars with exemplary city views. The spots on this list range from fine dining restaurants in the sky, to relaxing beachfront summertime draws, to hot new bars with sports arena proximity.

We’ve updated this map and taken out Sixteen, since the two-Michelin engagement called it quits this past spring. New players include: Z Bar, Beatnik on the River, Mordecai, The Up Room, Terzo Piano, and Aba. Listed from north to south.

Lettuce Entertain You’s newly-minted Aba serves as the counterpart to Ēma, both of which are helmed by chef C.J. Jacobson and proffer flavors of the Mediterraean. Aba spans 4,000 square feet both indoors and out, inclusive of a lush patio stamped with greenery and killer city view. Also expect exotic libations by Liz Pearce (The Drifter).
