Where to drink discounted Krug and Dom

Champagne has become a beverage synonymous with specials occasions, so it’s no surprise that during the holidays the French wine flows. Not to be confused with other sparkling wines from around the world—like Italian Prosecco or Spanish Cava—Champagnes, from the namesake region in eastern France, carry a unique terroir, beloved for their creamy body and notes of toasted brioche.

Typically, these coveted wines cost a pretty penny, but in the name of generosity and the holidays, a number of Chicago-area restaurants and bars are knocking back prices, even on major labels like Krug and Dom. There’s even a P2 deal in there. Below, where to sip the good stuff at prices that won’t break the bank.

Shaw’s Crab House

River North seafood seller Shaw’s Crab House has a great bubbles steal from now through January 1, 2019: Dom Perignon 2006 is just $35 a glass.

RPM Steak

RPM Steak (and RPM Italian, for that matter) is also getting into the Dom deals action. Dom Perignon 2006 is $40 a glass, while Charles Heidsieck NV by the glass (poured from a magnum) runs $29.
