With March Madness at its pinnacle, everyone’s chowing down on bar snacks this week. While chicken wings and nachos are all well and good, it’s a welcome surprise when bars go the extra mile with beer-friendly vittles. Considering its love of bars and sports, Chicago isn’t lacking for over-the-top bar snacks. From gourmet beef jerky to cheeseburger milkshakes, these are the 11 craziest (and downright best) bar bites you need to try in Chicago right now.
Clams, oysters, lobsters, shrimp and the list goes on and on. There's something about food from the ocean and other bodies of water that people are drawn to. Perhaps it's the variety of delicacies that harbor your plate, or maybe it's the brininess of every bite that reminds you of sandy beaches and radiant skies. Equally, for chefs, there's an immeasurable amount of diverse dishes that can be prepared with seafood. There are waves of opportunities, and creativity is the only boundary.
Oyster Bah has a Lenten special they’re ready to share with you. During lunch and dinner every Friday from March 10th through Good Friday on April 14th, the restaurant will be serving up a Portuguese-Style Fish Stew with Cod, Clams, Mussels, Smoked Potatoes, Red Pepper, and Shellfish Broth ($23.95).
The dish is a collaboration with fellow Lettuce Entertain You Chef, Aaron Martinez, from Intro, and it’s only available on Fridays during Lent so make your reservations now!
On Groundhog Day, Thursday, February 2, Oyster Bah has a little gift for you. All diners on that day will receive a gift certificate for the value of their meal (food and beverage only) as a little thank you for their patronage.
