Let’s talk about last meals. You know, the one where you no longer have to worry about calories and cholesterol. If I could eat anything with no fear of digestive repercussion, it would be a big, juicy burger—hands down.

Luckily, we live in a town that takes its meat VERY seriously. Chicago has umpteen great burgers, many of which I’ve waxed hungrily poetic about. So in the interest of what’s new, I give you some recent discoveries (aka “Ground Meat Epiphanies”). These should be immediately added  to your Burger Bucket List (you know you have one).

We all have that favorite morning hangout — the one where we can crawl out of bed, throw on a baseball cap, and proceed to slurp down runny eggs and Bloody Marys, hoping in vain to cure our reckless Saturday night. But, too often, weekend brunch means treading a path of least resistance, whereby we constantly return to the same tried and true standbys, wait too long for a table, and then order the eggs Benedict. Again.

The Michelin Guide announced the Chicago recipients of its 2015 Bib Gourmands, an award that sometimes comes with mixed emotions.

Chefs and restaurateurs dream of receiving Michelin stars (Chicago's star winners will be announced next week). Bib Gourmands designate very good restaurants that offer good value (the rule of thumb is two courses and a glass of wine for $40 or less), and while that's a very nice distinction, receiving a Bib Gourmand means the restaurant isn't getting any stars.

Sunday’s festivities will make travel a slog—we found 26 places to feast within walking distance of each mile of the race.

Your friend who’s running the marathon this weekend probably has her entire Sunday planned, down to how many minutes before start time she’ll eat her pre-race banana. You, the spectator, should probably do the same—while you may not be worried about proper fueling, you should worry about the fact that the city environs will be more or less unnavigable once the festivities begin.
