Shaw's is two restaurants in one – a jazzy, sophisticated, seafood restaurant and a carefree, lively oyster bar. Both serve top-grade fish and shellfish, several varieties of just-shucked oysters, and inventive sushi and sashimi combinations, made with the freshest fish in town.
The wonderful, sweet crabs vary by season, with Alaskan red king legs, Florida stone crab claws, Maryland blue crab, whole Dungeness and soft shells, plus shrimp, Maine lobster and cold-water tails. Like all our seasonally fresh fish (which is filleted in house), they're chosen with consideration for the environment, often coming from fishing families Shaw's knows personally.
That's not to say meat lovers get short shrift: Hand-selected USDA Prime cuts are on the menu, too. Shaw's also takes pride in the depth and breadth of its wine list, organized for easy selection by taste characteristics.

Shaw’s Sushi Chef Naoki Nakashima, an authority on Japanese cuisine and etiquette, will lead an interactive Japanese sushi demonstration at Shaw’s Chicago. The class will feature Sushi Basics and how to make sushi rice, maki and nigiri. Students will learn how to master skills of the Japanese kitchen in a fun and interactive way. Each class will feature hands-on learning and teach students how to make and roll maki including a California roll, Shrimp Nigiri, and Deconstructed Smoked Salmon.

Shaw’s Schaumburg Oyster Bar is a jovial joint to begin with. But a new promotion threatens to make it a regular haunt. For one hour, one day a week, the restaurant will host “Oyster Hour,” featuring hand-shucked bivalves (usually an East Coast & a West Coast) for just 50 cents apiece. To round out the options, Shaw’s will add an assortment of seafood delights such as oysters on the half shell, jumbo shrimp cocktail, hand-rolled maki, along with salads and seasonal vegetable side dishes.
