    St. Joseph’s Day Zeppole Available for Carryout

    You can’t celebrate St. Joseph’s Day without the traditional zeppole, and Osteria Via Stato is one of the few places you can find them downtown! These light-weight, cream-filled fritters (here at Osteria topped with house-marinated cherries) are the traditional pastry of this Italian holiday, and one of Chef David DiGregorio’s favorite treats to prepare and share. Zeppole are available in packages of six ($18) or a dozen ($30). Call 312-642-8450 to place your order by Thursday, March 16 for pick up all day Friday and Saturday. Zeppole will also be available to diners in the restaurant as a dessert option on St. Joseph’s Day, Sunday, March 19.
