FOODease Hosts Book Signing with "Soup & Bread" Cookbook Author Martha Bayne

Chicago (January 2012) — FOODease, a Lettuce Entertain You Restaurant located in Water Tower Place, will host a book signing with author and Chicagoan Martha Bayne and her cookbook, Soup & Bread Cookbook: Building Community One Pot at a Time (Agate Surrey), at 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 25.

FOODease welcomes Bayne to share delicious recipes and explain the history of how soup has impacted communities and helped foster social justice. Her book focuses on how soup-related projects have helped unite groups in need, such as the international Empty Bowls Project and Chicago-based Re-Thinking Soup. Bayne notes, “[Alone] among foods, a pot of soup can be a powerful tool to both draw people together and help them to reach out to others.”

FOODease will be preparing a soup from the cookbook for guests to taste and purchase. Attendees are welcome to purchase the cookbook at the market for $20.95.

For more information on the book signing event, please call 312.335.3663 or visit www.foodeasechicago.com or FOODease Market on Facebook and Twitter.

ABOUT MARTHA BAYNE
Born in Seattle, Washington, Martha Bayne never believed that she would wind up settling in the Midwest but the prairie seduced her. Bayne has lived in Chicago since 1995, and in 2009, she started a random project that quickly took over her life. Now, with a book out, she is surprised and gratified daily by how far the seed of one little idea can, given the right conditions, plant its roots and grow, grow, grow.
