7 Hot Chicken Dishes to Warm Up With in Chicago

The coldest month of the year is a good time to seek out flaming hot chicken dishes in Chicago. Particularly, it’s an apt time for Nashville-style chicken, a spicy delicacy that has flocked northward to Chicago in recent years, popping up at restaurants all over the city. And it's not just Nashville, either, with hot chicken dishes drawing inspiration from places like North Carolina and even India. Here are seven versions to warm up with this season.

Bub City
Considering its penchant for regional Southern staples, from Kansas City–style burnt ends barbecue to Texas torpedoes (aka fried stuffed jalapeños), it’s no surprise that Bub City has a knack for Nashville hot chicken. The barbecue bastion dishes up the spicy stuff in crispy wing form, as buttermilk-dipped chicken tenders or as a sandwich with coleslaw. Naturally, it's the most pungent option on the menu, so proceed with caution. Or just have a pitcher of beer at the ready.
