2015 Guide: Best Things To Do On New Year's Eve

Whether you're looking for a fireworks cruise, New Year's Eve parties in Chicago or just New Year's Eve dinner ideas, our list of fun things to do for New Year's Eve is sure to give you a great place to start.

MUSIC & PERFORMANCE VENUES

Country is king when Bub City presents Shawn Lacy for a new year's night filled with live music from the Nashville-based singer/songwriter, along with Southern comfort favorites like mac n' cheese and fried chicken bites on the buffet munu.

CHEERS! RESTAURANT CELEBRATIONS

A la carte options are available at Tanta (spice things up with a Peruvian spread), Ramen-san (the only thing bubbling is the piping hot broth) and Tavern at Rush (can't go wrong with a classic steak dinner). Fill up on $1 pintxos and $3 tapas at Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba! or dance your way into 2015 with Latin beats and eats at Nacional 27. While passed appetizers and buffets have you covered at TÊTE, if you're still hungry, stick around for the food trucks delivering more goods at midnight.

Frontier hosts a New Year's Eve Whole Animal Party, with a whole animal (pig, goat, lamb and boar) meal package and a champagne toast at midnight. County Barbecue will offer "Bacon 15 Ways," as well as a choice of 15 unlimited bourbons, cocktails or bacon-friendly craft beers. Or make a grand entrance into the New Year with the "Grand Crab Tower" at Shaw's Crab House, a two-tier bounty of whole crab, crab claws and crab bites paired with two mini bottles of Moet Chandon. When the clock strikes, both the main dining room and Oyster Bar will be serving up complimentary champagne AND oysters.

BARS, LOUNGES & NIGHTCLUBS

For a bit of casino glam, ring in 2015 at the Casino Party at Henry's Swing Club, where revelers will enjoy classic table games from blackjack to poker, dancing to live band funk/soul music, as well as unlimited sliders, house cocktails, and bottled or draft beer. Party like it's 1999 at UNTITLED when the "Prince Experience" takes over the sizeable speakeasy supperclub. Swap out the suit for a Hawaiian shirt and sip on tiki drinks surrounded by an island buffet for a Tropical Luau at Three Dots and a Dash. Or consider reserving a table AND a bowling lane at Lucky Strike, where partiers get live DJs, live video mixing, beautiful decorations, a pasta buffet and desserts.

Dancing on the agenda? Move to beats by local and international celebrity DJs, such as AFROJACK at Studio Paris Nightclub and DJ MattBoyWhite at Sub 51. Party at the nightspot known for its champagne list Cuvee, where the bash includes a lavish buffet, live DJ music and a sweets table, or dance all night at River North celeb hangout Underground. In the South Loop, rap and hip hop hits are the highlight at The Shrine with performances from DJ Sean Mac and Rockie Fresh, plus complimentary food, party favors and the customary champagne toast at midnight.
