2nd M Burger opening in River North on August 26
Not to be outdone by Epic Burger, M Burger is, as rumored, opening a second location. If all goes as planned, it will open at 5 W Ontario St on Thursday, August 26.
This location emulates the first one in almost every way: same menu, same somewhat-secret off-menu items (in August, that double-shot espresso shake will be returning). The main difference: This location will have 18 seats—twice as many as the original.
If the location sounds a little familiar, that’s because just like the first location, the second M Burger has been carved out of an existing LEYE restaurant’s kitchen (in this case, the kitchen of Osteria via Stato). Naturally, I’m already speculating about which LEYE kitchens may turn into a M Burger next (I’m assured that this won’t be the last)—Big Bowl? Nacional 27? Surely Laurent Gras wouldn’t mind giving up some of L2O’s kitchen space, right?
Coincidentally, this new M Burger will be just steps from another highly-anticipated sandwich shop, Graham Elliot Bowles’s Grahamwich, which is now planning a September opening. The two business will have a State Street separating them; nevertheless, I fully expect that, one day, the long lines for both will meet.
