I joined the Lettuce family 11 years ago, and it was the best career move I have made for so many reasons. I began with Eiffel Tower restaurant as an entry-level manager which was a great opportunity for me as I had no fine dining experience. I did look to that as a great challenge which I think is what helped get me "in the door." Once I began, I was blown away by the training program and embraced it with everything I had. After that I never stopped "training" and embracing everything. There was so much to learn, and still is! The challenges are day to day whether they are staff-related or operationally-related. There is never a dull a moment, but that is what drives me.
One of the greatest challenges that I thought I would have is the balance of family and work. Although it is a challenge, there is such a great support staff from this company that it makes it easy to know that I can be there for my family as well as grow in my career. I am lucky that I have support all around from Eiffel Tower, LEYE and my husband. Chef Joho has been an amazing mentor to me. His knowledge and understanding of every aspect of the restaurant and the business itself is nothing short of amazing. The trust from him takes my job to a different level and gave me the opportunity to become General Manager. Scott Barton and Susie Southgate-Fox are people who have greatly influenced me and helped guide me in the knowledge of Lettuce culture and staff relations. My goal is to become partner with LEYE. With the continued support and guidance from LEYE I believe that anything is possible.
