My first tasting this month was at a restaurant I’ve heard a lot about and been wanting to visit for a long time. After all, who wouldn’t be curious about an authentic, latin-inspired, Japanese eatery featuring both tacos and sushi! Along with their PR Manager, I finally ventured to Tokio Pub to put my curiosity to rest.

Sushi School is in Session

Restaurant Locations: 

On Thursday, June 30, get ready for the summer edition of Tokio Pub’s Sushi School. Chef Patricio Cardenas will lead the interactive sushi demonstration where guests learn how to roll maki, make nigiri and will also get basic lessons in polite Japanese phrases and sushi etiquette. Priced at $50, the class includes all ingredients, as well as an appetizer, entree, dessert, a and take-home guide (drinks are not included). Check-in will begin at 6:30 p.m. and Sushi School will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. in the restaurant’s Bonus Room.

April Beer Dinner with Bell’s Brewery

On Monday, April 25, Tokio Pub is hosting a four-course dinner with beer pairings from Michigan’s own Bell’s Brewery. The event is $45 per guest (tax and gratuity not included), and dinner begins with check-in at 6:30PM and the first course at 7:00PM. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 847-278-5181.

The beer dinner includes:

Crawfish Scotch Egg: Corn Bread Pudding, Green Garlic, Pickled Chilies)

Leap Year Beer Dinner with New Holland Brewing

The Windy City’s own Lagunitas Brewing Company is headed to Tokio Pub on Monday, January Leap Year comes but once every four years. For Tokio Pub, this is the perfect excuse to let the beer flow! On Monday, February 29th, the restaurants is throwing a Leap Year four-course dinner (plus a surprise course) with beer pairings from Michigan’s New Holland Brewing. Costing $45 per guest (tax and gratuity not included), the dinner will begin with check-in at 6:30PM and the first course at 7:00PM. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the restaurant.
