Steve Hofferth

Partner of Mity Nice, Foodlife, Scoozi and Antico Posto.

Steve Hofferth is partner of Mity Nice, Foodlife, Scoozi and Antico Posto.

He began his journey in the restaurant industry as a dishwasher and prep cook more than 20 years ago, in his hometown of Munster, Indiana.   Steve continued to work in culinary operations as a kitchen manager during college, until he graduated from Ball State University with a degree in Journalism.

Steve joined Lettuce Entertain You in 1997 when he accepted his first front of the house position as a #3 manager at R.J. Grunts. At Grunts, Steve learned the Lettuce history and culture inside and out.  He was quickly promoted to the GM position within two years.  Steve also met his wife Nicole while working at R.J. Grunts.

In 2002, Steve took the leadership role at Antico Posto.  He served as GM for two years, and began to develop his passion for food and wine.  In 2004, Steve was asked to assist in the opening of Osteria Via Stato.  During this time, Steve continued to develop his taste buds and wine knowledge.  He worked closely with Rich Melman, learning more about the opening process and confirming that "it's really all about serving great food!

In 2005, Steve was promoted to Divisional Supervisor of R.J. Grunts, Scoozi and Antico Posto.  Steve carried his enthusiasm for great tasting food and wine to his new role.  He also focused on the development of young managers and created stronger management teams.

In 2008, Steve began working at Foodlife and Mity Nice.  The move to fast casual reconfirmed the importance of great tasting food supported by "wow" service, no matter the level of dining.  Steve played an integral part in the recent remodel of Foodlife.  During this time, he learned a great deal about food display and restaurant design.  His strong attention to detail was invaluable to the project.

Most recently, Steve led the initiative to re-concept Mity Nice, a 17 year old Lettuce favorite. He helped reposition it for success for many years to come. Through this opening process, he learned about staying focused and being true to your brand.

When Steve is away from the restaurants, he enjoys spending time with his wife Nicole, two sons Charlie and Henry and "third son" George, their 90+ pound Weimaraner. He also enjoys running, cycling, swimming and an occasional game of golf.  Steve believes to be successful in the restaurant business you have to find the perfect balance of work and play.  Steve looks forward to developing future leaders and growing his team.
