Marc Jacobs is the Executive Vice President and Partner of Antico Posto, Beatrix, Bea's Market, Ēma, Foodease, Foodlife, L. Woods, Mity Nice Bar & Grill, and Rotisserie Ēma.
Marc began his career with Lettuce Entertain You in the fall of 1991, as a banquet server and busser at Bones (now L. Woods). After being cross-trained as a server, host and line cook, he was offered the opportunity to go through management training upon his graduation from UIC in the summer of 1995. In the spring of 1997, Marc was transferred to R.J. Grunts and was quickly promoted to general manager, working side-by-side with Rich Melman on the re-development of the restaurant.
In 2001, Marc left Grunts to lead the opening team at Antico Posto. He helped develop the concept and menu, oversaw the hiring and training, and was involved in the construction and creative processes. In 2006, Marc joined the opening team at Di Pescara, and two years later took over the operations of Foodlife and Mity Nice Bar & Grill.
In 2011, Marc opened Foodease, a restaurant-quality market concept in Water Tower Place. In 2013, Marc opened Beatrix in the Aloft Hotel River North which later opened a Streeterville location in 2015. In both concepts, Marc was involved from the start, working on concept creation, menu design, interior and kitchen design, construction, hiring and training.
In 2015, Marc and his team took over L. Woods, a Wisconsin supper club, and is excited to be back where his career began.
Most recently, Marc combined his passion for food and design to open Ēma along with Chef/ Partner CJ Jacobson, a Mediterranean and California-inspired restaurant in Chicago’s River North.
